Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop - December

Welcome to the SG Blog Hop for December, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.

Here is my layout:

For this quarter's Blog Hop I decided to do a one page layout. I drew inspiration from a sketch in the Sketches for Scrapbook One-Page Sketches Volume 1 sketchbook. I love using this sketchbook when working on one page layouts. It's also easy to use for two page sketches - just carry the design to the second page! I decided to have a little fun with mist on the background. Also, how cute is the Elle's Studio "Cute as can be!" tabbed tag?! Love it! Great addition to a layout about my sweet parakeets.

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is even a free one every month in case you want to try it out.

Next on the hop is DEVRA Leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be chosen on December 9th, so you have one week to leave a comment.

Layouts Galore!

I have been so awful at keeping this blog updated. I really need to work on that. This time of year is usually pretty busy, so I'll blame it on that ;).

I want to share some layouts I have created over the past several months. I belong to an awesome scrapbook message board and a big group of us have gone through the Allison Davis classes together. We have been doing this since May of this year. We started with Sketch Support and have also done the 6x6 Paper Pad Class and Photo Arrangement Replay. It has been a TON of fun! I really enjoyed learning from the class material and seeing everyone's layouts, what they learned from the class and their own personal style and touches. I can't wait to do more classes in the future! I'm going to share a few layouts I created from each class.

Thanks for looking at my layouts and I hope you enjoyed them!

Please stay tuned and get ready for another Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop that starts tomorrow Monday, December 2nd!!

Scrapbook Generation Blog Hop - September Edition!

Welcome to the SG Blog Hop for September, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link.

Now that it is September; school is back in session, the Texas heat will soon be dying down (I hope!) and this means that summer is coming to a close very soon. I thought it would be fun to do a little re-cap of my favorite things from this summer. I absolutely adore the Simple Stories "I {heart} Summer" collection, so it was an easy decision to use that line for this layout. It is so colorful and fun to work with! The way I did the paper behind the title is a lift from a scrappy friend, Maria (Tinkgumby) - isn't it a great idea?!

The sketch I used for this layout is from the Sketch Fusion sketch book. I am in love with this sketch book and it is so versatile. It was made in conjunction with Simple Stories collections, but it is so easy to adapt and use other scrapbooking manufacturers as well.

You can find the SG sketches in their books and as downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you wanted to try it out.

Next on the hop is Steffanie, leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on September 9th, so you have one week to leave a comment.

Scrapbook Generation Sketch Lovers Blog Hop!

Welcome to the SG Blog Hop for June, if this is your first stop, you might like to start at the Scrapbook Generation blog and then hop through each link. Here is the list in case you get lost:

Scrapbook Generation blog - http://scrapbookgeneration.blogspot.com/

Each blog will share a project using one of the SG sketches as a starting point. You can find the sketches in their books and downloads in the SG store, and there is a free one every month in case you want to try it out.

I created this sketch using one of the sketches in the Sketches for Scrapbooking Volume 8 book. I highly recommend this volume if you are just getting started with sketches or Scrapbook Generation products! I stuck pretty closely to the actual sketch. I did add the orange strip under the title. For the particular type of Thickers I used, I felt it needed to be "grounded" instead of floating around on the paper.

Products used: Jillibean Soup Apple Cheddar Soup, Dutch Mustard Soup and Soup Staples II (patterned papers, journal spot, date tab); American Crafts Thickers - Forest (title), Silhouette Cameo (leaf and flourish die cuts); Kraft cardstock (Hobby Lobby).

Next on the hop is Nicole! Leave a comment on each blog and one lucky commenter will receive a free sketch bundle of their choice from the store. The winner will be drawn on June 10th, so you have one week to leave a comment.

Epic Fail!

Ok, so, I guess my renewed attempt to start blogging again at the beginning of this year was an epic fail. Starting today I plan on doing a blog post at least once a week. I am carving out more time to scrap each week, so I will have more layouts, cards and projects to showcase more often. I am also very excited about participating in the new quarterly blog hop that Ruth Bonser will be hosting through Scrapbook Generation. That's even more ammunition to start blogging more!

This time, it's for real! Please hold me accountable! :)

Happy 2013!

Happy New Year and welcome to my new blog! I have blogged before in the past, but fell off the bandwagon. I decided it was time for a new, revamped blog. Here I will showcase my scrapbook layouts, cards, Project Life and other craft projects I create along the way. I am also very much into seasons and holidays (hence my blog name)! My grandmother sometimes called me holiday girl since I love them so much. I often create projects and home decor for the different holidays and seasons.

Later today I will be blogging about what products I will be using for Project Life 2013 and what my process will be.

I hope you enjoy my blog! Please feel free to follow me and stop by to read every now and then!
